- Periodical surveys should be undertaken to monitor the fish biodiversity in reservoirs of
Nagpur district.
- Efforts regarding conservation of four fish species, which are in endangered category viz:
Anguilla bengalensis (Gray, 1831), Hypselobarbus kolus (Sykes, 1839), Tor
khudree (Sykes, 1839) and Rita gogra (Sykes, 1839) should be undertaken.
- Although, twelve exotic fish species have been reported in the reservoirs from Nagpur
district, trade and culture of Clarias gariepinus (Richardson, 1845) and
Hypophthalmichthys nobilis (Burchell, 1822) should be effectively banned as per Govt.
of India guidelines.
